Trip Advisor

  • 3 star ratingOman Diving We'd heard the diving in Oman was something not to be missed, so we duly booked our trip with Global Scuba. The diving was spectacular we weren't disappointed, but we the organisation was not what we had expected. We had pickup from our hotel, but not after being told by the owners that they had called to our hotel and we weren't there. It transpired that the 'very elderly couple' that runs Global Scuba had in actual fact gone the wrong hotel. We arrived at location and things were quite disorganised, but we just went with the flow. There were with others on the boat with varying levels of qualifications, but one couple refused to do the second dive as he didn't think the gear was up to scratch (we had our own). He'd been with another outfit just a little further up the coast and had a fantastic experience, but thought this organisation was dated and safety was an issue. My husband and I always dive as a buddy pair so stuck together following the DM's. Without a doubt the diving experience was great but there seem to be a lot of shortcuts taked with this outfit and I do think it's only a matter of time. With hand on heart I couldn't recommend know that the elderly couple should really be hanging up their 'Fins' and passing the business onto someone that can run Global Scuba as they probably did many, many years ago. . . . .

  • 4 star ratingSuperb Diving, freindly and helpful staff, boat not great with waves. We booked a number of experienced divers on a weekend trip with Global Scuba. These guys have a good operation and pretty slick and well organised. The staff were really helpful and got us underway without delay. The boat is loaded in the car park and tractor launched - all like clockwork. Plenty of water and snacks on the boat and well guided by the knowledgeable guides. My only negative was the boats inability to cope with light waves, In the UK our boats have a higher bow and run through these waves without issue. We spent 45 mins betting soaked as the low bow ploughed through the waves. Clearly this was a weather issue, so not the fault of the dive center per-se, however worthy of note if you choose to go out on a day that is not flat calm.

I would recommend the dive operation for experienced divers and "blokes". I would not take my wife or younger children on this boat however.

  • 5 star ratingGreat dives, friendly company Due to a booking mix up by another hotel I was lucky enough to find myself with a private charter and my very own private dive instructor for the day. The guys could easily have cancelled on me due to it being far from economic but still took me out all on my own! Good quality kit and plenty to choose from to get the right size then into the boat and off to Al Fahal island. 45 mins on glass flat seas and into the dive gear for the 1st of two 40 min dives. Moray eels, cuttlefish, all sorts of fish species but no whale sharks for me this time of year. Still Ari made the dive interesting in 15m visibility waters. For a diver from the UK I’d have been happy in a shorty but he had 3 layers! Sandwiches, carrots and cucumber for lunch along with plenty of bottled water accompanied a decent stop between dives. Back into the water for the 2nd dive, this time with plenty more current as the tide picked up. Ari saw a ray and 2 Tuna (he claimed) but I didn’t make them out, still another fun, safe and successful dive. Back into the boat and dropped literally onto the beach at the Chedi. Couldn’t ask for more. I’ve dived in Oz, Turkey, Tulum, BVIs and Maldives and these guys were as good as any I’ve been with before. Good value for money diving with a friendly and safe crew in beautiful warm waters with plenty to see

  • 5 star ratingAwesome diving We visited Al Dimaniyat islands, 2 dives for OMR 55 pp including equipment. We enjoyed a lot the dives and the life down there was very diverse and rich. All the ppl in the dive centre were very friendly and helpful, excellent service. And an extra star for the driver and the divemaster, who stopped on the way because of a whale shark, so we could spend some time snorkeling with it. So great!

  • 5 star ratingAmazing diving trip! The whole trip ran very smoothly, pick-up and drop off from our hotel and fast nice boat tour to the Dayminayat islands. On our way to the islands we were very lucky ranning into a group of whale sharks, so we jumped overboard for a swim with them: AMAZING! During our 2 dives we also saw such great sealife: leopard shark, multiple stingrays, murenes, turtle etc. The 'Aquarium' is highly recommended. The visibility was not perfect, but still so much to see! Have been on several dives in the caribean but have never seen so much cool stuff in one place!

Our guide, Arif, was very professional and friendly. We were the least experienced of our group and he asked us to stay close to him which was reassuring.

All in all, would definitely go again, highly recommended!
